If you aren’t a plumber, follow these steps to fix it but first unplug the power cord located under the sink. Secondly, put on latex or nitrile gloves and locate the upper-hopper chamber. On the inside wall you’ll feel the knockout plug adjacent to the dishwasher connector. Make sure the plug has been removed if you use the dishwasher. Rotate the impellers counter-clockwise feeling for any obstructions to remove.
Once you have unjammed the garbage disposal you can turn it on and test.
